After a long absence, I thought I should deal with the backlog of photos.
A mixture of pictures from October 2005 around Suffolk (and a bit of North Essex). We start with the surprise resurrection of 47s by Freightliner for a short period during the Autumn, rather puzzling as they were putting 57s into store at the same time.
DRS took root in Stowmarket goods yard for a few months and ran water cannon trains around Suffolk and Norfolk using pairs of 20s, not to be outdone EWS used 66s out of Parkeston Yard on their leaf busters. This is followed by a trip out to see the late John Peel commemorated by Cotswold Railways with 47813 being named at Bury St Edmunds.
Finally a visit to Ipswich to see how the other half live as the Orient Express Pullman rake came to town for the day; the eventual destination for the day out was to Felixstowe, sadly the final part of the journey was by bus, so the Pullmans didn't make it down the branch. |
