The Class 150s finally left 'one', being replaced by Central Trains class 156s, currently in a range of liveries. The Class 86s spent most of the month out of use on the GEML, being replaced by EWS class 90s 90019 and 90036 adding a spot of colour to the region. However at the end of the month 86235 returned to use following a bad few days for the 'one' 90s. Whether they will be seen again is unclear, 'one' intends to stand them down from the 1st of July. The highlight of the month was a pair of Cotswold Railways 87s working an ECS train to Crown Point and returning a week later to Oxley. June was a month of missed opportunities, mainly due to the Highways Agency cutting me off from the rest of the world during the week by causing congestion on the A14 Orwell Bridge. If it hadn't been for the bridge, you would also be able to see photographs of the Sizewell flask train running again after a long break, 47818 in the sun on a Norwich train and more of the 86s - all of them were seen while trying to get to the right spot :-( |
