| Nothing much out of the ordinary in this collection, but the sunny mornings have been encouraging me out of bed earlier on a Saturday...
Only a couple of oddities early in the month, a 2-car 170 on the GEML and 86501 hurrying off up the main line light engine on a Saturday. DRS 'Wednesdays' means route-learning along the Essex branches and a day out at the seaside for 47802. As the month wore on, a pair of EWS 90s arrived at Crown Point to replace the 86s, but both 86235 and 86232 continue to defy the Grim Reaper. 26th May was black Thursday for 'one' 90s, three failures, but still no sign of the EWS 90s displacing the 40 year old veterans. The following day, with excessive heat causing overhead problems together with more failures, saw a pair of class 317s make at least two return journeys on Liverpool Street to Norwich services. |
