Colton Junction is the location where the York to Leeds line and the ECML diverge, following the closure of Challoners Whin Junction after the ECML was diverted in the 1980s.

These few photographs were taken on the way back from Barnetby. The very hazy conditions were not conducive to good photography, nor was the habit of the other line becoming busy as soon as we wandered over to a spot suitable for only one of the lines...
